  Have you ever considered trying ancestry.com?

  i was recently given a gift of ancestry.com and i’m curious if anyone else has used this service?.

  My wife gave one to me was a x-mas gift a few years ago. I was always told I had native American and African American in my back ground. It never showed up but it showed I had Greek, Italian and Irish. The rest of my heritage I knew about. I was disappointed about no native and African American in my background but now I know why I always liked Greek and Italian food so much. Still Totally ADD

  Were You Close To Your Non JW Family?

  i was thinking of how little i know about my father’s side of the family.

  i recently inquired about ancestry.com and i’ve come to the realization that even the closest sides of my family via my father, are unknown to me .

  what a shame that jehovah’s witnesses kept us apart.

  When my wife and I first meant and being a born-in and she a convert she would go on and on about all her relative's their names and and the history of them and then she ask me about mine. All I could tell her was about my 3 grandparents and my brother and his family. I told her I knew little about anyone else on my side of the family. My father believe we should have nothing to do with anyone of them because they were not part of the borg. For most of my life I have known little about my side of the family until a few years ago due to some help from a dear member on this board, Lois lane looking for superman. I was able to connect with a cousin in IL I did not know about. Since then I have learned a lot about my side of the family.

  I did a ancestry.com from that I have learned my lineage goes back to 1650 and maybe even longer in this country. With my wife's side going back to the mayflower both sides have been in North America a long time. Good thread mlmimus. Thanks. Still Totally ADD

  i posted this before, but my wife is upset and not handling it well.

  her mother has alzheimer and is in a care facility for the rest of her life.

  between medicare and caid she is paid for the care.

  So sorry to hear what you are going through. The other day at the farmers market I saw a witness family pulling their cart billboard behind them. Teenage son following the father in his 40's. All dressed in suits and ties from what it look like from the 1980's. Very poor looking. All the wt is doing is shooting themselves in the foot by teaching everyone to live a simple so called life. My thinking they made their bed let them sleep in it. Take care and i hope it will all work out for you. Still Totally ADD

  A very dangerous thing happen to us two weeks ago. It could have meant our life.

  two weeks ago mrs. add and myself was driving home from shopping on a side street when we came upon a man laying on his back with his arms spread out in a t formation.

  with no one in site we pulled over our van to help this person.

  mrs.add went for her phone to call 911 and i got out of the van to see what i could do.

  Jan I understand the point you are making. But when you have so many shooting deaths done by the police in this country of people who are not armed it's a little scary when you see over dozen police walking towards you with guns pulled on you. I truly respect what our law enforcement does for us but it only takes one to fire their gun mistakenly. With so many guns in this country I can see why they are on high alert. Also the 911 call they got before my wife called them was a women firing a gun. So they came on the seen fully armed and ready to shoot.

  For me that was more scary than seeing a man laying on the ground with a pool of blood under his head. All of it is a experience I would not wish on anyone. Still Totally ADD

  Blue dog we were so much in shock when the police came all we could do was just stare at them. The only one who put their hands up was the long hair guy. I must say the police were very nice to us and keep thanking and telling us what good people we were for staying and giving them a statement. One even told me how many never get involved. Overall it is nothing like you see on tv. Still Totally ADD

  Thank you all for your comments and recommendations. I will be very, very careful for now on and there is no drug cartel. It was a fight over a damn motorcycle. I guess it was worth killing over. So senseless. Still Totally ADD
